Dr. Burch Richardson


Dr. Burch Richardson is in his 16th year in Kershaw County. During his years in education he has worked in high school and middle school settings.He taught high school for 15 years, was an assistant principal for five years and has served as a principal for 17 years. He has served at the District level as the Director of Professional Development and Director of Secondary Education. He currently serves as Director of Teacher Recruitment and Retention. Under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resourses, he works to attract a high-quality workforce that is committed to the vision and mission of the Kershaw County School District. In addition to the this role, he is over Title II, Induction Program, Mentoring Program, Developing Administrator's Program, Leadership Training and other duties as assigned. He is married to Joni Smith Richardson and they have a son, Will. (2015 graduate of the University of South Carolina Honor's College and Masters degree from the University of Oxford in England in 2017.) He believes in the right of every learner to learn and the right of every teacher to teach.
