Hi! I am Valarie Dixon and I am a product of the Kershaw County School District. I attended school in the Lugoff area having gone to Lugoff Elementary, Lugoff-Elgin Middle, and Lugoff-Elgin High. I attended Winthrop College receiving a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, I began my teaching career in the Sumter County School District working at High Hills Middle, and later moving to Hillcrest Middle. While is Sumter County, my educational instruction focused mainly on teaching math and social studies. I attended Francis Marion University receiving my Master's of Education degree in Remediation.

After several years of working in Sumter County, I received a job opportunity to work in the Kershaw County School District at North Central Middle. Since being at North Central, I have taught 6th grade math, Math Enrichment, Careers Education, and am presently using the PLTW (Project Lead The Way) curriculum to teach Automation and Robotics to 6th grade, Energy and the Environment to 7th grade, and Flight and Space to 8th grade.

I have also held various other positions throughout my teaching career. I have been a Student Council Advisor, a Middle School Girls' Basketball Coach, a Middle School Track Coach, a Junior Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach, and the School's Testing Coordinator.

Besides teaching, I am an avid reader, enjoying watching and participating in sports, and spending time with my family and friends.
