Mrs. Hayes is a native of Kershaw County, and a product of Kershaw County Schools. After graduating from North Central High School, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop University and later received her M.Ed. in Instructional Accommodation from Francis Marion University. This year will mark her 20th year teaching at Midway. Mrs. Hayes has previously taught third and fourth grades. This is her fifth year teaching fifth grade.
She has been married to her husband, Chad, for 20 years, and together they have two daughters, Caylee and Chloe, who have also attended Kershaw County Schools. Their family also includes an 11-year-old shih tzu named Cookie.
Outside of school, Mrs. Hayes loves traveling, especially to Walt Disney World in Florida. When she is not teaching or planning a Disney trip, you can usually find her singing at church, eating queso at San Jose with her family, or driving her kids around. At home, she enjoys taking care of her plants and flowers, reading a book, or watching movies on Netflix.
