Welcome to Midway Elementary!  I am proud to be a small part of this magnificent team of educators who work together in continual collaboration for the benefit of all children within the school.  This is my twenty-ninth year in education; my twenty-second year as an administrator.  I have experience working in the suburban environment, the inner-city environment and in very rural schools.  Educating children has been a lifelong dream for me, and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to live out my dream every day.  I have never lost that passion and cannot imagine that I ever will.  I enjoy reading nonfiction books when time allows, although being with my family is my favorite pastime!  Thank you for entrusting your child(ren) to us and please contact me if I can help you in any way.  Thank you, Gail Stehle

I am proud to begin my 27th year in education at Midway Elementary School!  This will be my 11th year as an assistant principal in KCSD, and my third year at Midway!  Originally from Camden, SC, I am a graduate of Camden High School, Furman University (B.A. in History), and Converse College (M.Ed. in Secondary Education & Ed.S. in Elementary/Secondary Administration).  I have taught social studies for five years in high school, 10 years in middle school and 2 years overseas in an elementary/middle international school.  I have also coached middle, JV and varsity volleyball, basketball and softball.  I love sports and being outdoors hiking! I have been married to my husband Chris for 24 years, and we have two children:  Sarah, who is a senior volleyball player at Furman University, and Seth, who is a rising 11th grader at Lugoff-Elgin High School.  I am so excited for the 2022-23 school year and helping my Midway students and families in any way that I can!
