Education
I have a BA in Art with a minor in Education from Winthrop University. I graduated with a Master's of Education from Francis Marion University in Instructional Accommodations.
About Me
I am a graduate of North Central High School. I decided to pursue Art Education after being encouraged by my high school art teacher, Mrs. Scronce. I have been teaching for 15 years. In all my years of teaching, I have traveled between schools mostly in the North Central area. I have taught at Mt. Pisgah, Midway, Bethune, and Wateree Elementary Schools. For the first time in my teaching career I will add Baron DeKalb to the list. I am so excited for what the future holds for our faculty and our students! I am excited, for the first time in 15 years, to be in one location, working with one faculty! I can't wait to get moved into our new facility- North Central Elementary School, home of the Little Knights-where my colleagues and I will be able to collaborate in making our students successful future adults!
I have two sons and both of them attend North Central High School. I am proud that my sons get to be a part of the great schools I had the opportunity to attend as a young student. I am overjoyed to be teaching in the area I call home. I am fortunate to have a great rapport with my students and their families. Parents can be assured that their kids are getting an enriched art education when in my class. We will cover areas of art that deal with Art History, Art Criticism, Art Aesthetics, and Art Studio. I will do my best to educate our future Knights.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
Interest
I enjoy weight training, golfing, attending church, and reading. I am an active member of Bethany Baptist Church where I sing with the worship band.
