Mrs. Alana Powers
I am proud to be a Kershaw County native! I graduated from Camden High School in 1995. I am a 1999 graduate of Winthrop University where I received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. In 2004 I received a masters degree in arts integration from Lesley University. In 2008 I became a National Board Certified teacher. I have been working in Kershaw County School District since 2001. In 2013 I was blessed to be the teacher of the year for Camden Elementary as well as the first alternate district teacher of the year for Kershaw County. I received a masters in administration and supervision in 2017 from Southern Wesleyan University. This is my fifth year at DME! I served four years as the assistant principal and am blessed to be the principal this year for the first time. I am married to a wonderful man and we have three wonderful sons and one beautiful daughter. We live in Camden with most of our family surrounding us with love and support! I am currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Liberty University where I am focusing on Educational Leadership. I love people and building relationships! I am proud to be able to continue to serve DME in this new role.
