I want to take a few minutes to thank you for allowing me to teach your Kindergartener during the 2017-18 school year! I am very eager and excited to become familiar with your child and their family. The students also appear to be very eager to begin their journey into education. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself.
This is my eighteenth year of teaching. I have taught Kindergarten, first and second grades. I believe that all students are capable of learning if given the appropriate educational environment. Students have various learning styles and personalities; therefore it is my goal to individualize instruction to the best of my ability for each student in my class. I also have high expectations for all of my learners that will allow them to learn to the best of their ability.
I have been married for twenty years. We have two boys ages 16 and 11. I currently live in Sumter, SC and commute daily to Jackson School. I always try to treat children the way I would want teachers to treat my two sons.
I graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Early Childhood Education. I then attended Cambridge University where I obtained my Masters in Education degree. I completed and was awarded National Board Certification until 2018.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have. Kindergarten is a busy and exciting time for your child as they try to make sense of the world around them and their place in it. I can be reached at 425-8965 ext. 4826 (school), through email at aimee.nesbitt@kcsdschools.net, or by placing a note in your child’s BEAR folder.
