Miss Betsy Burr
A little about myself…I was raised in Lugoff and went to Lugoff Elementary kindergarten through third grade. I graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School in 2002 and Winthrop University in 2006, where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. I earned my master’s degree in Educational Technology at the University of South Carolina in May of 2010. I completed 30 Graduate hours above my Masters in 2013. I am so excited to begin my thirteenth year of teaching with your babies. I taught at Lugoff Elementary for four years and this is my ninth year here at Jackson School. I have always loved school and learning and I hope to inspire your child to feel the same way.
I lived in Lugoff for twenty-two years and moved to Columbia eleven years ago. Kershaw County is a great place to live and grow up. I do not have any children, but I hope to have children of my own one day. I have a Maltese named “Mr. B”, as well as an American Bulldog Mix named “Ella Grace.” I also have a pig named Wil-Burr. I love going to conferences and learning as much as I can, so I can be the best teacher for your child. I also enjoy going to the beach and spending time with my family whenever possible. This year let's sprinkle kindness with each step we take and make every day count starting with day one.
