I am excited to have the opportunity to teach your child in fifth grade this year. I earned my bachelor’s in Elementary Education, and my master’s in Divergent Learning… both from Columbia College. In 2005, I became a National Board certified teacher, and renewed that certification in 2015. I am passionate about discovering how children learn best and gaining new strategies to use in my classroom. I want to help my students develop confidence, and be their very best!
I grew up in Columbia and graduated from AC Flora High School. I have always wanted to be a teacher, and used to play school as a little girl. Most of my family still lives there, and we spend a lot of time together.
My husband, son, and I live here in Elgin. We have 5 cats! My husband, Matt, is a retired Air Force veteran. We love geocaching and traveling. In fact, we have driven cross country three times and loved our adventures!
I can’t wait to spend this upcoming year getting to know your child, and helping him/her learn and grow!
