I am currently serving as the Administrative Assistant for Special Services, some of my responsibilities include management of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), administrator for our evaluation and due process recording program (Frontline/Enrich), parent/guardian request of student records, retrieval of student records, reporting, and assessment for the Office of Special Services and the South Carolina Department of Education also, the Department of Disability and Special Needs. I work closely with the school psychologists, administrators, and teachers to provide the necessary information that pertains to a student's record under the direction of Tarrence McGovern, Director of Special Services. I coordinate all internal and external office correspondence that include parent/guardian request for student records and record transfers to and from collaborating school districts. I have experience working with SASI, PowerSchool, PowerTeacher, Parent/Student Portal, Medical Homebound, and Customer Service.
I began my career with Kershaw County School District 0ver 22 years and have served in varies roles throughout my tenure. One of my most important jobs is being a wife to my husband Kenny and mother to our two sons. Our oldest son, Kenneth II, is currently Associate Director for Freshman & Transfer Admissions, Admissions at Lander University. Kevin, our youngest son, a fifth-grade Math & Science teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina, Mecklenburg School District.
I enjoy event planning, crafting, traveling, reading, and lots of shopping.
