Hi and welcome to my page. I am beginning my 29th year of teaching, with 24 of those being in Kershaw County. I actually retired at the end of the 2022 school year and am coming back as a working retiree. I graduated from Coastal Carolina with a BA degree in Elementary Education. I also received my masters degree from Francis Marion University in Instructional Accommodations for Divergent Learners. I am also highly qualified in Middle School Math, English, and Social Studies. I was named the WalMart Teacher of The Year in 2005 for the Northeast Columbia area. I've served as math department chair, a team leader for 9 years, a certified mentor, and evaluator.
I am a widow. I lost my husband unexpectedly after 25 years of marriage in Nov. 2020. He was a paramedic for Kershaw County. I have two sons. Nathan is a graduate of Lugoff Elgin High School (2015) and Central Carolina, with a major in Engineering Graphics Technology. He is a certified Emergency Medical Technician and works for Kershaw County EMS. Evan is a graduate of Lugoff Elgin High and served in the United States Coast Guard in Wisconsin. He is returning home to pursue a career as an Emergency Medical Technician as well. In addition, I also have two dogs, a German Shepard named Thor and a Bichon Freze named Casper!
I absolutely love teaching math and watching students have that "Ah-Ha" moment as they learn!!!
GO TIGERS (STOVER AND CLEMSON)!!!!!
