Mrs. Missi Lemonds

I LOVE children and teaching and consider my students MY children! From the day you walk through my door, you will always be one of my babies! My goal every day is to make sure my students know I care about them, want the best for them, and am here to help them any way I can!

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Columbia College. Then, I earned my Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. GO GAMECOCKS!!!! This is my 28th year teaching, and I have taught 6th and 7th-grade history at Stover for the last 24 years. I am a little nerdy when it comes to history and love to watch The History Channel and documentaries as often as I can.

FUN FACT: I am the ONLY teacher still teaching at Stover from the original Stover staff (24 short years ago)!

I was born and raised in Camden, SC. and lived in Camden until March of 2020- the year of the Corona. My husband of 20 years and my children and I made a big move to Elgin, SC. My favorite things to do are watching my own babies do what they love- wrestling and fishing and dancing. My Wade Thomas is a senior at LEHS this year and loves to fish and wrestle. My Jules is a junior at LEHS. Nothing makes me happier than watching her shine on stage as she dances her heart out. My children are my world! We stay very busy, but we love camping in our spare time and just being together.

I truly love the community here! I love the schools in the Elgin area so much that both of my children have attended Blaney Elementary, Stover Middle, and now Lugoff-Elgin High School. After teaching in Camden for the first four years of my career, I knew I wanted a more close-knit school community for my own children. I can not imagine teaching anywhere but here at Stover. I love being a part of this amazing community!
