Mr. Matt Spolski
I am the school counselor at WTC. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Albright College and then completed a Masters of Education in Secondary School Counseling from Kutztown University. I have coached soccer, cross country and track & field. My wife is a middle school social studies teacher in Richland 2 School District. We have two children, Nolan (2) and Natalee (0).
After serving as a school counselor at Lugoff-Elgin High School for five years, I made a career move to Woolard Technology Center. This is my fourth year serving the students in the Career and Technology Education fields. My goal is to counsel and advocate for students, helping break down barriers to being successful in their academics, career and college development, and their personal and social life.
"We are lending money we don't have to kids who can't pay it back to train them for jobs that no longer exist.” Mike Rowe
"When college is held up as the one true path to success, parents—especially highly educated ones—might worry when their children opt for vocational school instead. If students are exposed to the possibility of vocational training early on, that might help remove some of the stigma, and help students and parents alike see a variety of paths to a successful future."
