Camden High is committed to maintaining open and effective communication with our stakeholders and to recognizing the accomplishments of our students and staff. To accomplish our communication goals, Camden High utilizes the following tools:
Our school website, Blackboard, contains information about upcoming events and announcements. The webpage is designed for users to navigate successfully and quickly. The Staff Directory allows parents and students to locate teacher information and students can expect to find their Teachers’ homework, assignments and documents (syllabus, expectations., etc.). The Academics tab is organized by departments and is another way to locate course information. The web address for our school site is www.kcsdschools.net/chs.
All students have a Gmail Address (legalfirstname_lastname@kcsdschools.org). Logging into this address also gives them access to their Google Drive account for creating Google Docs, Sheets and Slides for homework and assignments.
Our school and the district use an automated calling system called BlackBoard Connect to call families with school information, absence notices and low lunch balance alerts. If you are not receiving these calls, please contact the school office to update your phone number.
PowerSchool Parent Portal allows parents to access their student's attendance and grades on a daily basis. Parents must register in the Guidance Office for access.
The district also has a mobile app - look for the Kershaw County School District App in your smartphone store or see www.kcsdschools.net/app. School and district notifications are shared through the app, as well as ParentPortal accounts, lunch menus, and additional information.
The school television news show, WDOG, broadcast on Fridays throughout the school. It is uploaded to the school YouTube channel for public viewing.
Bulldog Bulletins announcements are updated daily and can be accessed on the school website.
The school's Facebook page is frequently updated with announcements, pictures, recognitions, etc. The web address is https://www.facebook.com/kcsd.chs.
The video portal VNN (Video News Network) can be accessed at www.wearecamdenhs.com. Athletic updates and club highlights are posted on this site.
The KCSD provides a newsletter service via Smore. The Camden High School newsletter, The Bulldog Life, is published monthly. Parents who have email addresses on file receive the school newsletter on their computers and phones.
The school newspaper, The Palmetto Leaf, keeps stakeholders informed about key issues and important events.
The Gold and Black Yearbook provides a snapshot of our school life and serves as an historical archive of each school year.
All parents should attend Open House (held in fall and spring) to meet teachers and learn about course content and expectations. Parent University provides all parents on various topics such as technology, college financial aid, NCAA eligibility requirements, etc.
The Camden Bulldog Club funds the maintenance of the www.camdenbulldogs.com website which highlights the Camden Bulldog Club's support of athletic teams.
