I am excited to begin my second year as a Reading Coach here at Midway! I have taught students from preschool to 3rd grade. This will be my 8th year here in Kershaw County, where I taught first and second grade at Pine Tree Hill Elementary. In 2017 I had the honor of being named Kershaw County Reading Teacher of the Year. Being a military wife, I have taught in many districts, including ones in Arizona, Kansas and a few in Germany. My husband is now retired from the Army, and we are enjoying life here in the Lugoff/Camden area. I received my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Georgia and my Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Kansas State University. I was ELL and Reading Endorsed from Arizona and am Read 2 Succeed Endorsed from South Carolina. Currently, I am working on my National Board Certification in the area of Literacy. I have four children, three who are grown and on their own, and one still in college.  My youngest will be a junior at Clemson. I enjoy reading, stitchery, the beach, and being with my family.
