Bienvenidos a todos! Welcome everyone!
My name is Cheryl Gil. I have been teaching Spanish to kindergartners through 8th graders for 11 years. This year will mark my 8th year here at Lugoff-Elgin Middle School! I am excited to be here, and I hope to learn with and to teach your students Spanish! I have a master's degree in the teaching of Spanish, and I have traveled to Venezuela, Honduras, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
I was born in Nebraska, and I lived many years in Iowa. I have been living in Columbia, SC for over 25 years, and I consider this state my home! In addition to teaching our students Spanish, I am also the assistant volleyball coach. I have two dogs; Cindy and Wolfie. My hobbies include reading, traveling and exercising.
I look forward to a very fun and productive year this year in Spanish class!
