School Immunization
School Immunization Requirements 2024-2025
The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control requires specific vaccinations for students based on their age and grade. It is very important to check with your doctor and make an appointment for your child to receive any required vaccinations.
Proof of immunizations must be provided to the school, and forgetting to schedule vaccinations may prevent your child from returning to school on time at the beginning of the year.
Tdap Requirements
SC Law requires all 7th through 12th-grade students to have one dose of the Tdap vaccine. The Tdap vaccine protects students from tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (also known as whooping cough). This vaccine has been required for school attendance since 2013.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's school or the district office nursing services office at 803-432-8416.
For more information about immunization requirements, visit SC's DHEC Vaccinations page or call your child’s medical provider.
