Pupil Services
The Pupil Services Department manages student residency issues as they relate to enrollment, zoning and release of students to other districts. The Director schedules and conducts admission, readmission and evidentiary student hearings. The department monitors and processes all athletic and extra-curricular supplements and works with special projects such as homeless students identified under the McKinney-Vento Act, foreign exchange students, Title IX reviews for Athletics, and other projects as assigned.

Proof of Residency
All students in 4K, 5K, 6th grade, and 9th grade will be required to provide three proofs of residency for the upcoming school year. Students enrolling in the district for the first time or who have moved within the district are required to provide three proofs of residency. Schools may request any student provide proof of residency no matter what grade as a routine check or if it is suspected the student no longer lives in the schools' attendance zones.

Will KCSD accept out of district students?
KCSD does accept out of county students on a case by case basis, provided certain criteria are met. Employees that reside out of KCSD may bring their children to KCSD upon securing a release for their county of residence. Non-employees need to request an out-of-county transfer by contacting the Director of Pupil Services in writing (email or letter). Transfers will only be approved if space is available. Transportation is not provided for out-of-county students. Tuition will apply to all out-of-county students whose parents are not employees of the school district.
Who may register a student in KCSD?
Only the parent or legal guardian, as designated through family court, that is a legal resident of Kershaw County may register a student in KCSD. A birth certificate with the name(s) of the parent(s) will suffice in most cases or a court document.

Coaching positions are located on the district website (kcsdschools.net). Interested applicants should complete the application and contact the Activity Director at the middle or high school where he or she is interested in working.
