The Kershaw County School District partners with the ALPHA Behavioral Health Center (ALPHA stands for “All Life’s Problems Have Answers”) to provide confidential support and wellness services to our employees and their families.

What ALPHA Provides to KCSD Employees & Families

Provides KCSD employees and their families with a complete range of outpatient prevention, intervention, and treatment programs for individuals and families dealing with substance misuse, behavioral health needs, and co-occurring disorders.

Services include:

  • Prevention and education programs

  • Substance-use intervention support

  • Referral assistance and early identification

  • Evidence-based programs offered in schools, workplaces, and community settings

  • Culturally competent outreach

  • Options for appointments, after-hours availability, and emergency on-call support

Prevention Services for Employees

Delivering quality behavioral health services to the citizens of Kershaw, Chesterfield and Lee counties in an outpatient setting.

ALPHA Behavioral Health Center Prevention Department works to educate and support individuals and communities to prevent the use and misuse of substances and the development of substance use disorders and other potential high-risk behaviors. Comprehensive and evidence-based programs are planned and implemented through a variety of settings including schools, churches, and community groups. Collaboration with other community partners such as law enforcement are key to addressing environmental factors as well.

Prevention provides culturally competent programs and reaches the community in their own setting. ALPHA utilizes six main strategies of prevention; information dissemination, education, alternatives, and problem identification and referral.
