First Annual Kershaw County Read-In

High school student reads to kids

Friday, October 23rd, marked the first annual Kershaw County Read-In. Over 800 elementary, middle school and high school students attended the event hosted by Camden High at its football stadium.   Highlights of the events included read-alouds by CHS mentor tutors, teacher cadets, student-athletes, cheerleaders and drama class.  Members of the drama class performed a dramatic reading of the book "The Day the Crayons Quit" by Drew Daywalt in their crayon costumes.  The Camden High Bulldog mascot, Champ, entertained the children throughout the day.
