School Library Programs
About our School Library Programs
Our school library programs are dynamic and integral parts of our school's educational environment. They provide students and teachers with access to a wide range of resources, including books, digital media, and research tools, to support and enrich the instructional programs of our schools. By promoting literacy, fostering a love for reading, and encouraging lifelong learning, our library programs help students develop critical thinking skills and become independent learners. They also offer welcoming spaces for collaborative projects, quiet study, and creative exploration.

Parent Concerns regarding Instructional Materials
We encourage parents to be actively engaged in their child's reading life! Parental involvement in a child's reading life is crucial, as it fosters a love for reading, supports literacy development, and strengthens the parent-child bond through shared literary experiences. Our librarians, teachers, and administrators strive to work collaboratively with our parents to address any concerns about the material their child is reading. If you have a concern about a book or instructional material your child is reading, we encourage you to contact your child's librarian (regarding a library material), teacher (regarding an instructional material) or school administrator regarding your concern.
If you are unable to get your concern resolved with the school and district level administrators, you may complete this form below and email it to bookconcern@kcsdschools.net:
