Elementary School Gifted Program
Academically gifted students are identified by test scores in reading and mathematics. The units of study for gifted students Include standards from all disciplines language arts, mathematics, social studies and science.
The instruction, collaboration, projects, and activities included in these units support and extend with more complexity and depth what gifted students are learning in the regular classroom. Non-fiction literature is emphasized as are data analysis, reasoning, and argument skills for math and science. Academically gifted elementary students are provided field trip opportunities as a part of each unit of study to enhance understanding and provide enrichment and enjoyment for learning.
Middle School Gifted Program
Academically gifted students are identified by test scores in reading and mathematics. The units of study for gifted students Include standards from language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science.
The instruction, collaboration, projects, and activities included in these units support and extend the content with more complexity and depth than gifted students are learning in the regular classroom. Non-fiction literature is emphasized as are data analysis, reasoning, and argument skills for math and science. Eighth-grade gifted students are served in English I, Algebra I, and Spanish I.
