    • Then go 5.1 miles North on DeKalb St.

School Announcements

  • We are excited to announce a great opportunity for ATEC students through Central Carolina Technical College.  They are offering a Production Technician certification course for students ages 16-24 who are a resident of Kershaw County and a student in one of the classes at ATEC.  The classes will be offered at the CCTC Camden Campus and will begin on September 5th and end of November 20th.  Classes will be held Mon - Thur from 4:30 pm -8:30 pm.  For more information, see the links below.

  • The Fire Service program at ATEC has received a $7,500 grant from the South Carolina State Firefighters Association (SCSFA) for its firefighting program. Shown are J.D. McCarley, Region 2 training coordinator for the S.C. Fire Academy; Scott Wiles, deputy fire marshal for Kershaw County; Chris Tidwell, battalion commander for the Camden Fire Department; Chris Jones, volunteer coordinator for the Lugoff Fire Department; ATEC director Gordon Morris and ATEC firefighting instructor Jeff Cooper.

  • Congratulations to Mrs. Bradshaw's Health Science class for winning the Red Ribbon Week Peanut Butter Drive contest. The second place winner was Mrs. Gilson's Agriculture class and third place was Ms. Teal's Cosmetology class. A total of 1,211 jars were collected for the Christian Community Ministries. Thanks again to all who participated.

    Auto Tech

    Thanks to the Mark Mason family who own the Lugoff Automotive Group. They have agreed to provide paid internships for a number of our second and third level automotive technology students who met hiring criteria at the group's local dealerships which include Lugoff Toyota, Lugoff Ford and Carolina Chrysler Dodge. As of now, four students are participating in these paid internships, which include part-time work after school hours and on Saturdays. Congratulations to Trent Johnson and Brandon Harris, who are at Lugoff Ford, Hunter Horton who is at Lugoff Toyota and Vance Outlaw who is at Carolina Chrysler Dodge. We are hopeful that later in the school year additional students will qualify as positions become available. Larry Watkins is the program instructor.
