  • "Put Your Heart in It" Jackson School 

    Ms. White, PE Teacher,  would like to thank you all for your donation and participation in Kids Heart Challenge.  Jackson School raised $2,592.00. Last year we raised $1,861.00. Our goal this year was $2,000. Tyler Gibbs(2nd Grade) in Ms.Gooding's class raised the most money.   Thank you to all that helped raise money for the American Heart Association!

  • “Let Me Win, But if I Cannot Win, Let Me Be Brave in the Attempt”

     

    On Friday, April 26, 2019, Camden Military Academy will host the Kershaw County Special Olympics.  Jackson School will send their athletes in grand style.  The 3rd Grade "We are a Fan" Club have been gearing up for this event by making signs and noise makers during their club times this year. Students will line the halls as the athletes marched through on the way to the bus.  All athletes from Kershaw County participating in Special Olympics will meet at Chick-fil-a parking lot and have a police escort through down.  Business people will line the sidewalks and cheer the athletes on as the buses drive by.  The students from Jackson will line the sidewalk and cheer as the buses drive by. All students will receive  ribbons and medals for their participation in the games.  It is going to be a great day for all  involved!

  • Scholastic Spring Book Fair Coming to Jackson

    The Jackson Library will be hosting Scholastic book fair for its springbook fair.  As your child’s reading abilities improve, it is a good ideas to reevaluate the books that you have in your home to ensure that they are challenging and interesting for their level of learning.  A great way to add books to your home library is to visit the Scholastic Book Fair.  There will be leveled books that are very affordable. So, mark your calendars for April 26 through May 3rd from 7:30-3:00 daily for the Scholastic Book Fair.  We will be celebrating Muffins for Moms on May 2nd, and the book fair will be opened to shop during this event. We will also be offering the book fair online for parents who are unable to attend the fair at school.  Beginning April 22nd-May 3rd and the online fair will be available at https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs . Look for more information  after spring break.

  • muffins for mom Celebrating Our Moms!

    All moms are invited to come to Muffins for Moms on May 2nd.  It begins at 7:00 am in the cafeteria.  Please come to the library to shop our spring book fair afterwards.

  • Golden Apple Award

    The Golden AppGolden Apple le Award is an award that teachers and staff give to recognize and honor their peers for a job well-done.  The April Award recipients are Betsy Horton, Reading Coach  and Linda McClinton (Ms. Mack), Kindergarten Assistant,  Congratulations and we honor you for always going the “Extra Mile.”

  • KCSD Elementary Schools

    #Don’tBeTardyForthePartyChallenge

    Participants in the challenge: Elementary Schools in Kershaw County School District

    Goal: To engage students and parents while decreasing school tardies.

    Challenge Winner: The school with the highest decrease in tardies will win a Snow Cone Party

    Challenge Begin/End date: Beginning March 1st-May 10th

    Snow Cone Party Date: To be determined by the winning school. (Kona Ice or Pelican’s)

  • Author/Illustrator Visit with Henry Cole

    On February 27th, Author/Illustrator Henry Cole visited our school during Read Across America.  He conducted an assembly for PreKindergarten through 3rd Grade.  His books are still availble for sale and some of them have been autographed.  They will also be available at our spring Scholastic Book Fair.

    Yearbooks are on sale!  The cost is $20. You may purchase online www.strawbridge.net. The online code is 100388.  Cash or check may be sent to the school and turned into Melinda Boggs.

  • Parents'/Guardians' Rights Notification

    Parents/Guardians in the Kershaw County School District have the right to learn about the following qualifications of their child's teacher: state licensure requirements for the grade level and content areas taught, the current licensing status of your child's teacher, and baccalaureate/graduate certification/degree. You may also request the qualifications of an instructional paraprofessional who serves your student in a Title I program or if your school operates a schoolwide Title I program. Parents/Guardians may request this information from the principal by calling 425-8965 or by sending a letter of request to Mrs. Goodwin.  (matia.goodwin@kcsdschools.net)

    Jackson School Families,

    We are having our field day earlier this year and we always love having Field Day Volunteers.  If you are available to volunteer on April 11th and/or April 12th, please notify our parent coordinator, Ms. Barngrover,  by emailing thomasina.barngrov@kcsdschools.net .  You can also call the front office at 803-425-8965 and we will put your name on our volunteer list.
