ATTENTION 7TH GRADE PARENTS

IMMUNIZATIONS REQUIRED FOR SCHOOL

South Carolina immunization laws require all students entering 7th grade be immunized with a tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine booster called TDAP after their 7th birthday.

If your child has not had this vaccine, please contact your health care provider and make arrangements to get the vaccine. If your child has had this vaccine, please send an updated immunization record to the school nurse.

For a DHEC Immunization clinic through our local Health Department, you can visit www.scdhec.gov/health/vaccinations or call 1-855-472-3432 for an appointment.

The Kershaw County School District will begin implementing clear bag procedures Dec. 1 for middle and high school extracurricular activities as an added safety measure.

You may bring a clear plastic bag no larger than one gallon or a clear plastic tote no larger than 12x6x12.

Also allowed:

Small clutches no larger than 4.5 - 6.5 inches

Medically necessary equipment (after inspection at the gate)

Keys, wallets, phones, credit cards, and cash may be carried in pocket or by hand.

Seat cushions without pockets

Umbrellas and clear rain ponchos
