Student Fee Question & Answer

  • Why do I have to pay fees this year?

With a loss of revenue, the Kershaw County School Board voted to implement incidental fees to help provide supplies and materials for classrooms. Other Midlands districts have collected fees—many of which are much greater than the ones for KCSD—for numerous years.

  • What if I have not completed my child’s free or reduced meal application yet?

    Posted by:

Fees will be collected based on a student’s meal status as of May 1 from the previous year. If a new student has a sibling who was in the KCSD during the previous school year, fees for that new student will be collected on the same status as the sibling. By going ahead and completing a free or reduced application online, your status for next school year will be determined much sooner.
