Meet the Librarian
Mrs. Amy Williams joined the NCMS faculty in August 2019, after her family moved to the area from the Virginia/West Virginia state line area. Mrs. Williams resides with her husband, a professor at the University of South Carolina, the youngest of their three daughters, and 2 fluffy cats. She loves hunting for shells at the beach, and loves to talk to and about her precious grandbabies who live on the other side of the world.
As the school's library media specialist, Mrs. Williams performs administrative library duties including but not limited to circulation, purchasing & maintaining all library books & materials, establishing library programs and procedures, assisting students and faculty in locating materials in the library and online, providing technical assistance to both faculty and students with their laptops, planning & promoting reading incentive programs and fundraising events, performing collaborative lessons with school faculty, recruiting and supervising student a& adult library volunteers, and participating in professional organizations and activities related to reading, literature and library media.
Mrs. Williams says, "I grew up in a rural area of Virginia, very similar to the North Central area. As a child, our family didn't have much money, and I loved traveling the world through the pages of the books that I devoured! The best part about being a librarian is that I love helping people find just the right book for what they need or want to help them become life-long readers and learners!"
"If you don't like to read...you just haven't found the right book yet!" -JK Rowling
"If you can read, thank a teacher. If you can find something to read-thank a librarian!" (unknown)
