We are so excited to announce that the 2019-2020 yearbooks have arrived! If ordered and paid in full, your child’s yearbook will be with their personal belongings. If you have not paid for them in full, please do so before the 29th. In light of the current situation, we will not be able to receive any money during the drive through on the 29th. You can mail your payments to:
    Blaney Elementary School
    1621 Smyrna Rd.
    Elgin, SC. 29045
Please include your student's name with payment.
If you would like to order a yearbook, while supplies last, please send your payment of $18 and your student's name, grade and phone number by June 26th. If payments are received after 5/28, we will hold your yearbook for distribution until the beginning of the new school year.
We are so excited and hope you enjoy these memory holders as much as we do! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to or call the school.
Thank you all so very much for your patience and understanding.

  • Attendance Information

New state requirements for the 2019-2020 school year - Any student checked out before 11:00 am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, or before 11:40 am on Wednesday will be considered absent due to the fact the student missed more than 1/2 of their instructional day.

Attendance Excuse Policy - Students are required by state regulations to attend 180 days of school.  All half days, weather make-up days, field trips not attended, the days before a holiday and end of school all count toward the 180 days.  Students should bring a medical excuse or parent note within 2 days of returning to school.  If your student will be out for more than two consecutive days, please notify your student's homeroom teacher.  Per our district policy a student is allowed a maximum of 10 parent written excuses for absences per year.  After three consecutive unexcused absences, the student is considered truant.  Truancy Intervention Plans will be implemented after the third consecutive unexcused absence.  For further questions about attendance feel free to contact our Attendance Registrar at or by calling the school at (803) 438-3241.

    A Message from the Principal

    Dear Blaney Families,

It is an honor and privilege for me to serve as your  principal. Blaney is truly the heart of Elgin and we have the best kids in all of Kershaw County.  We also have the very best parents around!  This community is so kind and positive. Your love for Blaney is very evident.  Student safety is my number one priority with instruction following very close behind!  Thank you for trusting me with your precious children each and every day.

If you ever need me, please stop by the school or give me a call.  Relationships are critical in all that we do in education. At Blaney, our goal is to love, empower and grow each child as they develop socially and academically.

    Mrs. Creel
