Mrs. Michelle Reid

Hola!  My name is Michelle Reid and I am the Spanish teacher at NCMS.  I'm excited to be teaching in the North Central area again!  Before I homeschooled my daughter for nine years, I taught at North Central High School from 2004-2008.  It's so awesome and special to teach at NCMS where I have some of my former students' children in my classes.

Although I love living in Kershaw County, I did not grow up here.  I lived in Florida and California before my family moved to Lugoff. I graduated from L-E High School and then attended Davidson College in North Carolina where I met my husband.  We decided to make Kershaw County our home when we got married.

Originally, my dream was to be an English teacher.  I was a student at L-E when I fell in love with Spanish in Mrs. Wertz's class and changed my plan.   I was blessed to have amazing teachers at L-E who helped me pursue my dreams of going to college.  Now, it is my privilege to return as a teacher and give my students the best I have every day to help them with their own academic success.

I hope that your child will be studying Spanish with me this year!  I enjoy introducing students to the Spanish language and helping them learn to appreciate themselves and those who make up our beautiful, multicultural world.  What are my classes like?  We learn to communicate by saying and writing words and phrases,  drawing pictures, researching cultural practices, and using technology as much as possible to help us collaborate and create.  I want my students' parents to know that I constantly research the latest theories and methods so that what we are learning is always fresh, new, and relevant.  Why?  That is because I believe every child deserves a great education, and there's no better place than where the magic happens at NCMS!  Go Patriots!
