    5210 Challenge

    The 5210 Challenge has begun.....
The KCSD has a challenge for all of our students....the 5210 Challenge. The challenge is to do these four things every day in February and hopefully they will become life-long habits:
5- Eat 5 or more servings of fruits and vegetables.
2- Spend 2 hours or less viewing your TV, smartphone, computer, tablet or gaming system (apart from school or work).
1-Get 1 hour or more of physical activity.
    0-Drink 0 sugary drinks.
Participants must log their activities to track progress and accumulate points. At the end of each day, log your challenge activities into this form. If you forget to complete your log, remember to complete it first thing the next day.
For more information on the challenge and logging your daily practice of 5210, please use this link:
Date will be pulled every Friday to determine the frontrunner and winner of a prize each week. Winners can be grade levels, teachers, faculty, and ultimately…entire schools. After we determine the winner of the week on the following Monday, we will reach out to your school for you to choose your prize and schedule a time for us to celebrate with you.

  • Chaperones and Volunteers Information

KCSD is using BIB for our background check system. The cost to the individual is $16.95, which is significantly cheaper than the SLED checks that used to be required.  The application process is online and payment is also made online.  This check is required for all Level II volunteers, however, if you have a current SLED check you do not need the BIB check until your SLED check expires.  Some of the benefits of the BIB background check is that not only is it cheaper, but it conducts a nationwide search.  BIB will send the approved applicant a letter and identification card and will notify the school and the parent when the background check expires. For more information check out the district website.  The link to the application is
