Mrs. Robin Sowell
I am so happy to be starting my 26th year in Kershaw County. I am the Reading Interventionist at North Central Elementary and love working with students on their reading goals. I also serve as the MTSS/RTI Coordinator, the Title 1 Coordinator, and SIC Chairperson. I am so excited to be able to work with our most precious treasures this year!! Let me tell you a little more about me.
I am a graduate of Converse College with a bachelor's of arts degree in Teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing with a minor in Elementary Education. I have a Master's Degree in Instructional Accommodation and a Master's +30 degree in Literacy. I am a National Board Certified teacher, I have an add-on certificate for R2S, Literacy Coach, and ESOL. I am married to Billy Sowell, a member of the Kershaw County Sheriff's Department Core Team and we have two beautiful daughters. Our oldest daughter, Hannah, graduated from Converse College with a double major in History and Politics and lives in Florida, where she is pursuing a law degree. Our youngest daughter, MariElizabeth, is pursuing a career in Real Estate. We have two fur babies, K9 Koda, who works with Billy, my husband, and sweet Ziggy, our little dog, who is 6 years old. I have taught various grades throughout my career including; Reading Recovery, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, a 2/3 multi-age class and I was a Literacy Coach for 5 years.
I believe that reading is the key to discovery and without it, you will be lost. I look forward to a wonderful year at NCE where we are striving for Excellence...Always.
