Miss Lauren Brown

Dear families,

Welcome to first grade at Blaney Elementary School. My name is Lauren Brown and I’m excited to be your child’s teacher this year. This is my fourth year teaching first grade, but my first year teaching at Blaney. I am a product of Kershaw County, and I am blessed to be able to come back and teach in the district that taught me so much. I graduated from Lugoff Elgin High school in 2009. I pursued my dreams at Winthrop University where I received my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education.

In the Fall of 2013, I became the reading tutor for Kindergarten through Second Grade at Wateree Elementary School. In this position, I was able to work with many students to help them become better readers and it amazed me to see their tremendous growth. I loved seeing the excitement on their faces when they discovered something new.

I have always known I wanted to be a teacher to help make a difference in the lives of children. I am beyond blessed and excited to be working with you and your child this year. I look forward to a great year as we all work to discover each student’s strengths as we are WILD about learning at Blaney Elementary. I cannot wait to see the progress each and every student will make this year!

Favorites of all things Lilly Pultizer, Carolina Gamecocks, and monogrammed!
