Mr. Terdell Mealing, Music Specialist
Mr. Mealing is a native of Trenton, SC and a graduate of Charleston Southern University, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education. While at CSU, he studied Euphonium with Craig Sutherland of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr. Mealing also studied with Dr. Patrick Carney, Director of Bands at Limestone College. Before coming to Jackson, Mr. Mealing spent four years as Director of Bands at Camden High School, five years as Director of Music at Andrews High School in Andrews, South Carolina. While at Andrews, Mr. Mealing was selected Teacher of the Year in 2007 and served as the Fine Arts Department Chair. Mr. Mealing also was the Director of Bands at Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner, SC. Here, he received a Recognition Award from School Band and Orchestra magazine as South Carolina's 2001 Honoree in their annual cover story of 50 Directors Who Make A Difference. He has also worked with the award winning bands of Wando High School and West Ashley High School. Mr. Mealing served as the Associate Conductor of the Pawleys Island Concert Band from 2006-2008. Mr. Mealing served as clinician for the Region Five Senior Alternate Band in 2008, as well as, the Region Three Band in 2011 and is a member of the National Association for Music Educators and SCMEA/SCBDA. Mr. Mealing is a member of Brookland Baptist/Northeast Church in Columbia, where he serves in the Media Ministry and is a Licensed Funeral Director for the state of South Carolina.
