  • State Weight Lifting Competition

We had a great showing Saturday at White Knoll High School. Seven of our lifters brought home medals: Adam Rowson, Reddek Kelley, Chadley Clayborne, Thai Wood, Shamar James, David Pillard and Seth Branham. A special congratulations goes out to Seth Branham for being named State Champion- ask him to show you his ring!
Coach Knight did a great job of keeping up with everyone's scores and applying strategic advice to enhance their placement.  Coach Cooper was an invaluable judge and was busy the entire day. Coach Goodwin was extremely helpful in providing support in many different facets. Thank you to Coach Harkness for providing moral support.
Most of all I was proud of the kids for their behavior and the way they presented and carried themselves throughout the meet.  Several spectators, coaches, and others praised our young men throughout the day.

Do you write poetry? Do you know any poetry? Would you like to recite it? If you answered yes to one, or all of these questions, you may be interested in participating in this year’s Lugoff-Elgin High School Poetry Slam.

Ms. Lemieux is looking for participants who would like to perform their poetry (or recite the poetry of others) on April 21 in the library during both lunches. If you would like to participate, sign up in the library by the end of March. Lunch will be served to those who perform in this event.

See Ms. Lemieux for more details!
