Details for Online Registration & School Registration Event

Parents able to register students online with web-based system; KCSD Registration Days to be held July 27-28

Registration Information
July 18, 2016 - Parents in the Kershaw County School District can fill out their children’s school registration materials from home using a web-based system.

Using “InfoSnap,” parents access customized online forms for each student to update their information, provide emergency contact and vital medical information and read and agree to important notifications.  In years past, parents had to print out forms and take them to their children’s schools or fill out forms at school sites.

As an added bonus, parents with more than one child can copy common registration information rather than filling out separate forms for each child. Parents can also pay district-required fees online or wait and pay those at the school on Registration Day.

“This is our second year using an online process for our registration,” said Kershaw County School District Superintendent Frank Morgan.  “Families gave us positive feedback last school year about the ease of use so we look forward to continuing this success this year.”

Morgan said completing the online registration process prior to Registration Day will save families a significant amount of time on that day.  If the online registration process is not completed prior to attending Registration Day, parents will have to complete it at school that day.

Registration Day for elementary and middle school students is Wednesday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 to 6 p.m.
High School Registration Days are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. as follows:
  • Camden High: July 27-28 (all grades both days)
  • Continuous Learning Center: July 27 (all grades)
  • Lugoff-Elgin High: July 27 (9th grade registration, orientation & tours); July 28 (10th-12th graders)
  • North Central High: July 27 (9th grade registration & tours); July 28 (grades 10-12)
All parents will be required to provide a current (two months or less) utility bill (electric or water) that contains the student’s address at Registration Day.

In order to begin the online registration process, parents of returning students will receive a unique “Snapcode” for each child enrolled in a KCSD school by mail in mid-July.  These parents who have provided the school district with their email addresses will also receive the information via email.

The school district has a Registration section on its website at www.kcsdschools.net/register which contains a link to the InfoSnap site and answers to.  frequently asked questions.  The registration information is available in both English and Spanish.

Parents log into the InfoSnap site using the link provided in the e-mail or letter and create an account.  Parents must complete all of the information required before submitting the form, but uncompleted work can be saved and accessed later by logging back into their account. Once the form is submitted, parents will be asked if there is another student to register. Information that is applicable can be copied from the first child’s form to additional children’s files.

Families of students who participated in the kindergarten registration process earlier this year to complete their initial enrollment record will receive a Snapcode for their students.  They should complete the online registration process and attend Registration Day.

Families of students who are new to the school district should register online and do not need a Snapcode. They should attend Registration Day and will be contacted by the school to set up a time to bring the following documents which are required to enroll a student for the first time: a copy of the child's birth certificate, the child’s South Carolina Certificate of Immunization, a parent/guardian’s valid South Carolina driver’s license, a tax document with the current and correct address, a check stub with the current and correct address, either a mortgage or lease agreement or legally notarized documentation from the landlord and a current (two months or less) utility bill (electric or water) that contains the student’s address.  A child’s registration will not be complete without this documentation.

Parents can also complete applications for free and reduced priced meals online.  The link to do so is provided as part of the online registration process.  Families must reapply for this status each year and doing the paperwork online before school starts helps speed up the notification process.

Again this school year, a fee schedule has been implemented due to reduced local and state revenue.  Fees will be assessed according to a student’s meal status as stated below:
