With a new school year comes new school supplies, although for some families that presents a financial
challenge. Again this school year, persons who want to help provide needy students with school supplies can do so through the Pack A Bus campaign at their local Walmart and Fred's Pharmacy.   To show appreciation to Walmart and Fred’s customers, representatives from each of the 20 Kershaw County School District schools will serve as store greeters Aug. 5 during tax-free weekend.  Pine Tree Hill be helping take donations this Friday, August 5th from 6pm to 7 pm at the Camden Walmart.  We hope to see all our Bullpups there as we demonstrate how caring and supportive the Bullpups can be!

  • Cool Schools of the Midlands Visits PTH

cool WIS TV selected Pine Tree Hill Elementary as one of their "Cool Schools of the Midlands".  The news station visited PTH on Friday, November 13th to broadcast live from the school.  They shared the schools 21st Century Classroom initiative, Genius Hour, and several of the schools sponsored projects.  We are extremely proud of the Bullpup faculty/staff, students, and parents for all they do to make PTH such a wonderful place to learn.  See the link below for footage of the "Cool School" coverage.

  • Parent Portalinternet

Kershaw County School District's Parent Portal is now open for use.  Parents may access existing accounts or see their school to set up and account.  There will also be a mobile option this year.  Parent's can download the Parent Portal app via iPhone/iPad and register with the district code CQQZ.  We are excited about this new feature but would like to remind parents that the district itself does not support the app.  The portal can also be accessed using your mobile browser.  Any questions please feel free to give us a call!

  • Car Rider Informationcar

Bullpup families we want to remind parents that our car pool lane is open from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM every morning. Students arriving after 7:30 AM need to be signed in through the front office. For the safety of everyone, we ask that you not drop your child at the back door after 7:30 AM. At 7:30 AM, our teachers, safety patrol and administrators need to go inside to prepare for the day; therefore, we do not have supervision for students. At 7:30 AM we lock the doors to ensure our building is secure for the day. Please remember that on rainy days we see an increase in car pool traffic so you may want to come a little earlier than usual. You are welcome to come as early as 7:00 AM.  Afternoon carpool is open from 2:20 PM to 2:50 PM.  Thanks so much for your help and understanding!

  • Welcome to 2015-2016!

Posted by Renata Inabinet at 8/21/2015 3:00:00 PM

    Dear Friends of PTH,

Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year!  I have enjoyed hearing about everyone’s great summer!  Our Bullpups have been busy with lots of summer fun!  Our new school year is off to a great start.  This first week we have been busy learning our school procedures and making new friends!

Winnie and I hope you will join us in welcoming our new Assistant Principal, Mr. Bringer.  Mr. Bringer is coming to us from Darlington County where he taught 3rd grade at Washington Street Elementary.  Mr. and Mrs. Bringer have two adorable daughters.  We are excited to have our new PAWsome Assistant Principal!

Winnie and I have exciting news to share with you!  Our Bullpups will have the unique opportunity to stretch their learning through two innovative programs that are only at Pine Tree Hill! We will have FUNdamental Focus in 1st through 5th grades and Genius Hour from Kindergarten to 5th grade.

We created FUNdamental Focus to meet the various learning needs of all our students.  Students will have math and reading in their homeroom and then another interactive reading and math lesson during FUNdamental Focus to extend their thinking and remediate skills.  FUNdamental focus is scheduled to begin August 31.

We will be offering another innovative learning opportunity called Genius Hour!  Genius Hour is time set aside in class for students to study a new idea or skill that they choose and are passionate about, with teacher’s approval.  Students will have one hour a week to work on their Genius Hour project in our Genius Hour Lab. There are so many lessons to be learned through Genius Hour!  We are so excited about implementing this program at PTH!  Please stop by and see our Genius Hour lab when you have a moment.  We will begin Genius Hour on September 14.

We are excited about all the innovative learning we have at PTH!  We are truly becoming a 21st Century Learning environment!  Please stop in and see Genius Hour and FUNdamental Focus in use.  I know our Bullpups will WOW you!

Our PAWsome PTO will have their annual cookie dough sale kickoff on September 1.  Please support us by supporting the cookie dough sales.  Our PTO has decided to dedicate all the raised funds to assist teachers to purchasing 21st Century learning items.  I’m so thankful for our wonderful PTO!  Winnie is excited about the cookies!

Thank you for everything you do to make our school the best elementary school in SC!

    With Bullpup Pride,

Mrs. Royalty & Winnie The Bullpup
