  • Parent Portal

Kershaw County School District's Parent Portal is now open for use.  Parents may access existing accounts or see their school to set up and account.  There will also be a mobile option this year.  Parent's can download the Parent Portal app via iPhone/iPad and register with the district code CQQZ.  We are excited about this new feature but would like to remind parents that the district itself does not support the app.  The portal can also be accessed using your mobile browser.  Any questions please feel free to give us a call!

  • Welcome to 2015-2016!

Posted by Renata Inabinet at 8/21/2015 3:00:00 PM

    Dear Friends of PTH,

Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year!  I have enjoyed hearing about everyone’s great summer!  Our Bullpups have been busy with lots of summer fun!  Our new school year is off to a great start.  This first week we have been busy learning our school procedures and making new friends!

Winnie and I hope you will join us in welcoming our new Assistant Principal, Mr. Bringer.  Mr. Bringer is coming to us from Darlington County where he taught 3rd grade at Washington Street Elementary.  Mr. and Mrs. Bringer have two adorable daughters.  We are excited to have our new PAWsome Assistant Principal!
Winnie and I have exciting news to share with you!  Our Bullpups will have the unique opportunity to stretch their learning through two innovative programs that are only at Pine Tree Hill! We will have FUNdamental Focus in 1st through 5th grades and Genius Hour from Kindergarten to 5th grade.
We created FUNdamental Focus to meet the various learning needs of all our students.  Students will have math and reading in their homeroom and then another interactive reading and math lesson during FUNdamental Focus to extend their thinking and remediate skills.  FUNdamental focus is scheduled to begin August 31.
We will be offering another innovative learning opportunity called Genius Hour!  Genius Hour is time set aside in class for students to study a new idea or skill that they choose and are passionate about, with teacher’s approval.  Students will have one hour a week to work on their Genius Hour project in our Genius Hour Lab. There are so many lessons to be learned through Genius Hour!  We are so excited about implementing this program at PTH!  Please stop by and see our Genius Hour lab when you have a moment.  We will begin Genius Hour on September 14.
We are excited about all the innovative learning we have at PTH!  We are truly becoming a 21st Century Learning environment!  Please stop in and see Genius Hour and FUNdamental Focus in use.  I know our Bullpups will WOW you!
Our PAWsome PTO will have their annual cookie dough sale kickoff on September 1.  Please support us by supporting the cookie dough sales.  Our PTO has decided to dedicate all the raised funds to assist teachers to purchasing 21st Century learning items.  I’m so thankful for our wonderful PTO!  Winnie is excited about the cookies!
Thank you for everything you do to make our school the best elementary school in SC!

    With Bullpup Pride,

Mrs. Royalty & Winnie the Bullpup

  • End of the Year

Posted by Melissa Royalty at 6/15/2015
    Dear Friends of PTH,
I recently saw a quote that said, "From tiny seeds, grow mighty trees."  When I read it, it struck me as one of the most profound things I have ever reflected on.  Within your children we have planted tiny seeds each day.  We planted seeds that we trust will help your children grow into strong adults.
In order for them to grow into strong adults they will need deep roots that are sunk into the soil of self-confidence and strong values and beliefs.  Each day we must water the seeds with hope, kindness, and love.  We must feed the plants with the nutrients of knowledge, character, and dedication.  We must care for them so they can bloom with creativity, curiosity, intelligence, citizenship, and leadership!
During the 2014-2015 school year the PTH faculty and staff have been the caretakers of our little bullpups.  It is our promise that we will continue to nurture our students as they grow.  Thank you for sharing your most precious children with us this past year.
Enjoy a happy and safe summer!  Remember to read at least 20 minutes a day and please send us your vacation photos at
    With Bullpup Pride,
    Mrs. Royalty, Principal
