KCSD currently monitoring conditions:
The Kershaw County School District will be monitoring weather conditions today, and if any decision is made concerning an adjustment in tomorrow's schedule, we will post it here as well as notify local media and use our Blackboard Connect system for our families. We are working with local emergency management officials to open a shelter at Camden High School at noon today.
KCSD schools on delay for Monday, Oct. 12:
In order to allow for daylight travel, Kershaw County School District (KCSD) schools will operate on a delayed schedule Monday, Oct. 12. For Monday, administrators will report to work on time, all other staff will report one hour later than normal and students will report two hours later than normal. (Three- and four-year-old students in morning classes do not attend on a two-hour delay schedule.)
KCSD is continuing to work closely with local emergency officials to make decisions in the best interest of the safety of our students and staff. District leaders will continue to monitor the situation closely and will make appropriate adjustments if needed. The school district continues to appreciate the cooperation of our families with this change in schedule.
Twelve lucky members of the Lugoff-Elgin High School Madrigal Singers will perform on stage alongside Foreigner during their concert at the Colonial Life Arena on Friday, October 16th . The Kershaw County School Board is holding a series of feedback meetings to gather public input and ideas concerning facility needs and funding. Two school board members will lead each meeting, which will include a brief slide presentation of current facilities and a question and answer period.
